MY view on Euthanasia
My stance on euthanasia is that I am neither for or against euthanasia because there are certain circumstances that for me are bad. I am for euthanasia when the parents belligerently can't do anything about what has happened to their child or just any patient. I am not really drawn for euthanasia when the reason to die is because you have no money and that just shows that the only way you can survive is to have a lot of money or just plane money. People should be very earnest when it comes to taking someones life away especially if you don't have a really good reason. Like the man who killed his children, wife, and himself inside of his house just because both of the parents had lost their jobs. They both seamed as if the whole reason to live was because of the money and not to just live because of their family. some people may be sullen for this topic because they don't want want to talk about this topic or they just don't care about it. Maybe on the otrher hand they may be very bewildered because some euthanasia stories are understandable, but others are just plane selfish and messed up.

"Mercy" Killing?
1. Reflecting on Of Mice and Men a. Explain George's perspective for what he did to Lennie
George didn't want Lennie to suffer if Curley ever caught up to him. He also didn't want Lennie to be in jail because then he would just stay in there and be really sad. George just wanted to do it a way that would be easy and simple a way that Lennie wouldn't be suffer.
b. Do you think that was the best thing to do for Lennie?
I am sort of in the middle because he killed Curley's wife and yes he didn't do anything wrong but he should have thought what he was doing. Then again that wasn't the best thing to do because he would could of ran away and George would have probably caught up to Lennie. Though I would probably say that it was a good thing to do because if Curley would have ever found him he would have given hell to Lennie like torturing him and in the end killing him.
2. Father in Italy Accused of Murder a. Using a "quote" to support your response, explain the father's reasons for what he did.
''Late last year, 67-year-old Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish.''
I belive he did this because that would be the best thing for his daughter. He doesn't want to keep seeing his daughter lay in bed looking like she is dead already. He wants her to be happy he doesn't want her to lay in the hospital bed and that would be what she really wanted to be done with her.
b. Using a "quote" to support your response, explain if that was the best thing to do for the daughter.
''The court accepted that before the accident, his daughter had expressed a preference for dying over being kept alive artificially.''
I do belive that it was the best thing for the people to do because 1. the court gave him permition to be able to remove the feading tube and 2. they said that Eluana was better to die then to be kept alive threw a feeding tube. I also think it was the best thing for her because probably she wasn't even alive any more or maybe she was but if you took the tubes off then she would die, but if she could be able to breath or something then it would be okay. Another reason is because she should have all the right to choose if she wants to live or die.
c. Do you agree or disagree with what the father did? Why?
I agree with what the father did because he has all the right and he even won in court so the people could take the feeding tubes off. Also because what parent wants to see their child to be seen as if they are dead. Another reason is because probebly the girl did want to die that way especialy because her father was there.
3. Man Kills Family after Losing his Job a. Imagine and list things that might have been going through the father's mind as he contemplated his "mercy" killing. (In the article, the father's suicide note gives specific evidence of why he did what he did. Elaborate on it.) Specifically, what could he have been negative or paranoid about?
- frustration
- worried
- depressed
- anxious
- mad
- sadness
- problems
He was really paranoid because both of the parents had lost their jobs. Also because they wanted their jobs because they neeeded to feed their children. Another reason would be that the family didn't have any other place to go so they decided to kill themselves.
b. Unfortunately, with America's failing economy, many professionals are losing their jobs. While many do not resort to something as extreme as the man in the article, it does cause stress within families. What are some ways that parents can support children (to succeed in life) that do NOT require money?
Some ways that a parent can support their child is by letting your child know that you will always be with them. Parents don't have to give their child everything they want, but what a child does want to know is that they want to see their parents happy thery don't want to see them all stressed out. The most improtant thing you always have to give a child is love and they have to know that you will always love them.

Lets See How They Survive

1b.I think that Benny Rodriguez from the Sandlot would play good as Ralph because he is a good leader and everybody likes him. Another reason is because he always knows what to do when something goes wrong. Also because he is a very good runner when something is chasing him. I also believe that he would act as a good Ralph because he cares about his friends like a good friend should be. In the movie Ralph cares about his friend just like Benny so they also have things in common.

2b. Jack from the lord of the fies would be played by Captain Jack Sparrow who is Johnny Depp.He would play Jack because he would persuade anybody to get what he wants. Jack from Lord of the Flies persuaded the hunters because he wanted to have a tribe. So since Johnny is a good actor he can protrade anybody. Johnny would play a good Jack for the movie Lord of the Flies.

3b. I believe that Steve Urkel played by Jaleel White would play a good piggy because they both have spectacles. Also because they both tend to get a little annoying but hopefully in a good way. I also believe he would be a good Piggy because they can both relate to something that has happened to them.

4b. I believe that Paulie Bleeker played by Micheal Cera would be a good Simon because in the movie Juno he plays a shy character. Also because he is a type of quiet guy when it comes to talking to people. Another reason is because he is just a really good actor when it comes to playing thoughs type of characters.
5b. I believe that Malifacent would be a good Simon because she doesn't care of who she kills. Also because if she doesn't like someone like Sleeping Beauty she could put a spell on someone so that they can die in an accident. Another reason is because she is a good villain the movie.
6. I chose Gir as the beastie because he has two identities he doesn't only have one. He would also be a good beastie because the actual beastie has different identities.

7b.
- One thing I would change is that they wouldn't be able to have privacy because it is a small island.
- Also another thing I would change is that they didn't know anything about building a fire or any hard stuff.
- Another thing I would change is that they didn't have any shoes so they could only be bare foot or were sandals.

Hiroshima

2. Look through http://www.atomicarchive.com/Photos/Hiroshima/index.shtml. Find and post a picture of Hiroshima after the bombing and describe what you see/feel.
This is really sad because these peolpe never didn't do anything and they are getting really hurt. Inocent poeple should be protected not hurt because thats just messed up. Probebly these poeple have to take care of their family and now they can't because they are badly burned and they can't even move. Why does the Japanese government decide to throw a bomb to another nation without thinking of the conesquences?!3. Look through http://fogonazos.blogspot.com/2007/02/hiroshima-pictures-they-didnt-want-us_05.html and post a picture of people suffering from the Hiroshima attack and describe what you see/feel.

2nd assignment: Views on Abortion
My stance on abortion would be that I am against abortion because the baby has the right to live. Even though it wasn't made to be on purpose it's not the babies fault that it was made. I'm also against abortion because when the babies are taken out the look really bad. When a baby is in the mother even though they are not well formed the are still there and they can feel pain. If the mothers don't want them then they could give them up for adoption that why the baby has a chance to live.
2. Copy/paste evidence that supports that supports your views. Make sure you use quotation marks (" ") because these are NOT your words. - 3 points
"As we as a nation have lost respect for the unborn child, we've also lost respect for the child's mother. Violence against pregnant women has skyrocketed in recent decades. No longer are pregnant women universally treated with respect. Instead, they are far too often viewed with contempt--as if they've done something wrong by trying to nurture and protect an unborn baby."
"Another moral argument put across as a reason against abortion is yet again a phrase instilled into humankind since time incarnate - If providence has given, it shall arrange for it too. Simply put, this means that a child has been brought on earth, he or she should be given a full chance to live a life, as God must have planned something for them. While the above arguments may not find favor amongst the modern generation or even the atheists, who consider life forming as a simple scientific process, here are some various psychological, medical and human-emotions related facts against abortion. While it cannot be said whether an abortion is an unforgivable event, it is of course an unforgettable event. An abortion plays havoc with the psychology and the future life of the entire family. The woman who has lost her child, at any time between the pregnancy, will never be the same. While the woman may be the hardest hit by an abortion, one also has to think about the mental and emotional state of the entire family. While physically only the woman undergoes an abortion, mentally and emotionally it is the entire family who loses a part of their mind and body forever. Anesthesia is available only for the physical structure of the human body, not for the emotional and mental state of a person."
3. Explain the quote you chose for number 2 in your own words. You can explain it in the following ways: relate it to something that happened in your life or someone else's, explain why you agree with the statement, explain it to the reader with more detail in case the reader might not understand the quote, or give the reader a hypothetical situation in which the quote plays out. (Whichever why you decide to explain your quote, you should have at least 3 sentences to be thorough) - 6 points
I agree to this quote because many people are starting to lose respect on pregnant woman. They have done this because they think abortion would be better ;so the baby isn't important. Also they think that the mothers would be over reacting because the baby isn't even born yet.
I agree with this also because a baby does have a right to live because God apperanty has something instore for him or her. I also agree with this because an abortion can be really emotional to the family not just the mother. I can't relate to this because nobody that I know in my family has had an abortion.

First Assignment: Powerful Pictures
1. Insert the picture that is the most powerful for you.2. Answer in a complete sentence: What is this picture about?
This picture is about the fires that have been occurring because of the heat. The firefighters are risking their lives and trying their best to stop them the fires.
3. What message does this picture present to you? Why?
What this picture presents to me is that we should start paying attention to global warming. My reason is because people don't pay attention to it so they don't care what happens to the world.
4. Can you relate your life to this picture? Why or why not?
I'm not really sure if I can relate this to me. I'm not sure because I haven't really ever started a fire to begin with. What I can relate is that many people don't think that fires are dangerous because they aren't near a fire so they don't care. I also can't relate to this picture because even if I wanted to I can't do anything but I would want to.
